The Group of Twenty (G20) is the premier forum for international economic cooperation. It plays an important role in shaping and strengthening global architecture and governance on all major international economic issues.

India has Presidency of G20 from 01st December, 2022 to 30th November, 2023. During this period, India will host over 200 meetings in over 50 cities across 32 different workstreams, and would have the opportunity to offer G20 delegates and guests a glimpse of India’s rich cultural heritage and provide them with a unique Indian experience.

The Digital Economy Working Group (DEWG) of G20, established in 2021, offers inspiration and broad guidance to policy makers on harnessing the digital potential of economies. The Working Group aims at digital transformation to enhance public participation and realize inclusive social and economic growth.

The First Meeting of Digital Economy Working Group (DEWG) of G20 will be held in Lucknow (13th to 15th February, 2023). In the DEWG meeting, deliberation will be on three priority issues
(i). Digital Public Infrastructure,
(ii). Cybersecurity in the Digital Economy and
(iii). Digital Skilling,

These are guided by our G20 theme Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam – One Earth One Family One Future. The priority issues will be discussed in closed group meeting with the G20 members.

People from all walks of life, including students, youth, women, private sector, academia and civil society are invited to give valuable suggestions, inputs, opinions and views as to how they will like to associate people in general as a part of the G20 DEWG Meeting.

It is time for India to attain technological sovereignty. Given the unfolding economics and politics of the technology space, open-source software should be in India's national interest. As much as it makes sense to stay out of the cyber Sinosphere and align with the US where there is a convergence of interests and values, India must maximize its independent technological power. To attempt technological sovereignty by reinventing everything and insisting on localization would be counter-productive. A far more effective approach is to focus on open-source projects, build for the whole planet and derive a strategic advantage. This is the only reliable way to reduce dependence on transnational technology companies (and the governments behind them), whether Chinese or Western.

My suggestion is, Our country has achieved most number of cashless transactions when compared to other countries in the world. Now India has to start more card-less transactions through UPI & Online App like PayTM. Rupay card should be taken to global level by introducing Rupay Card for international transactions & also make Rupay Card to be used by International Banks. Please convert all the Nationalised Banks such as SBI bank as International Banks. Open their branches in all other countries such USA, UK, UAE, Switzerland, France, Japan, Israel, etc….. Make India as world’s Digital Financial Capital. Build a twin tower World Trade Organisation building in Mumbai, India. Discuss all these topics in G20 summit.

Rural areas also we can bring digital technology, 5G etc. So that migrating to city crowd can be reduced. We can create jobs or advancement, knowing outside world in village itself. 8. When digital introducing, we have to ensure cyber security, awareness creation etc for safe digital transaction. 9. People has to train in basic digital techniques, operation ,basic knowledge etc. So that they can use better ways. 10. Digital is direct interaction with everyone. So that lots of benefits is there. At the same time safe online should be important.
