It's great to hear that the Department of Youth Affairs in India is taking steps to involve stakeholders in the policy-making process through the draft National Youth Policy 2023-32 (NYP 2023-32). Encouraging active participation and gathering comments, views, and suggestions from various stakeholders is a crucial aspect of creating policies that truly reflect the needs and aspirations of the youth population. This inclusive approach can lead to more effective policies that address a wide range of perspectives and challenges faced by the youth.
Incorporating the hopes and aspirations of the youth into the policy framework, along with focusing on inclusive economic growth and responsible governance, is essential for ensuring the holistic development of society. The vision to create an environment where young people can collaborate, persevere, and contribute their skills and energy to building a new India is both inspiring and forward-looking.

The Draft Youth Policy reflects sincere and in-depth brain-storming. But it is silent in the area of politics-led student union activities.
The Draft Youth Policy innocently designates an institution in Chennai to “build an educational program specially designed to train young leaders for politics and governance through experiential learning. The school would only be for graduates.”
The hard reality is that many political parties pursue only power. Money is a potent component of that power. They look upon educational institutions as the poaching ground to recruit cadres. Often, the student unions are captured by the political party in power with the honey of unearned income by manipulating admission, attendance, benefits and also the various purchases by their institutions as their student leaders are enabled to uninstall/install any head of the institution with the help of state power.
Can we create the environment that the Draft Youth Policy dreams of?

Govt should concentrate more on orphan children, and Street children by providing them better education schemes and scholarship schemes and also living support till they are settled. There should be seperate health insurance for these children.
