International Day of Yoga is also called as the World Yoga Day. The idea of International Day of Yoga was first proposed by the Honourable Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, during his speech at the UNGA, on 27 September 2014. United Nations General Assembly declared 21st of June as the International Day of Yoga on 11th of December in 2014. Since 2015, 21st June is always celebrated as the International Day of Yoga all over the world.

This year, on the occasion of International Day of Yoga, Ministry of AYUSH has decided to invite suggestions/ideas/plans/proposals from Youth/ Youth Clubs/Senior citizens/Professionals/State Governments/Yoga Schools etc. for Celebrating the International Day of Yoga-2017, which can be undertaken on that day.

The last day of submission of ideas is 20th March, 2017.

How about having some placards with some basic postures for yoga across the nation, in the streets of urban and rural areas? These placards can be maintained all through the year, even after the yoga day.

Paes can be invited... bhutiya can be invited... i mean make this yearly festival as yoga of nations ... yoga of sports ... yoga of culture.. that is how every year bharat will become stronger and connected

Brics nations can also be invited... actually like this ee can go on... with brics we can start yoga research easily in all those nations... let's see how china takes it.. many things can be done with brics yoga with india

Build Yoga Resorts or Yogashrams in Hilly Areas using Public-Private Partnership, and inaugurate them on International Yoga Day inviting tourists to India for Yoga Tourism.

Create a documentary on Yoga in all regional languages ... Consult Divine Life Society Hrishikesh ...Make sure that documentary is shown in all schools colleges and in TVs on June 21 ....may be cartoons for kids :) ....
