In a historic step toward inclusive education and scientific empowerment, 28 tribal students from remote villages of Tapi district, Gujarat, set off on an unforgettable journey to ISRO’s Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota.
Under the joint initiative of the Tribal Development Department, Government of Gujarat, and the Tapi District Administration, this program titled: Tapi Ke Taare exposes brilliant young minds to India’s cutting-edge space missions.
For most of these students, this is their first-ever air travel, their first visit outside their home villages, and a leap into the world of science and technology.
Representing 15 government schools including EMRS Ukai, Khodada, Indu, and others—these students were selected for their interest in science and academic merit.
This documentary also features a special anthem “हम तो हैं तापी के तारे” that captures the dreams and spirit of these rising stars.

Respected Pradhan Mantri Ji,
Under the initiative Project: Tapi Ke Taare, 28 tribal students from Tapi district, Gujarat, recently had the opportunity to visit ISRO, Sriharikota. For many, it was their very first flight and their first close exposure to India’s remarkable space programme.
This initiative has received wide media attention and has significantly boosted the confidence and aspirations of tribal youth. We humbly request you to kindly mention this inspiring story in your Mann Ki Baat programme, as it beautifully reflects the spirit of New India—one of inclusion, scientific temper, and rising aspirations.
With respectful regards,
Gamit Amrita J
