माननीय भारत के प्रधानमंत्री महोदय, उच्च शिक्षित तलाकशुदा महिलाएं अपनी क्षमता होने के बावजूद नौकरी की तलाश नहीं करतीं और घर बैठे केवल गुजारे-भत्ते (maintenance) पर निर्भर रहकर जीवन बिताने की उम्मीद करती हैं। इससे आलस्य को प्रोत्साहन मिलता है। यह देश की अर्थव्यवस्था को नुकसान पहुंचाता है, माता-पिता की मेहनत से प्राप्त शिक्षा को व्यर्थ करता है, और महिलाओं के आत्मविश्वास तथा आत्मसम्मान को कमजोर करता है। (Page 1 of 2)

To the Honourable Prime Minister of India, Highly educated divorced women, despite having the capability, often choose not to seek employment and instead expect to live solely on maintenance (alimony) while staying at home. This encourages laziness. This harms the nation's economy, wastes the education earned through their parents' hard work, and undermines women's self-confidence and self-respect. In a country that believes women are superior to men, it is degrading for a highly educated woman to depend on her former husband's income for her livelihood. Therefore, I request that a national-level law or policy announcement be made completely denying maintenance rights to highly educated women. This will protect and strengthen true gender equality, women's self-reliance, the value of women's education, and India's economic growth. Thank you, An Indian, Tamil Nadu.
