The new regime was a great step in simplifying the tax laws. Please go the full distance on the new regime and make it attractive for everyone, no need for any income tax declaration and proofs and remove all exemptions. The only exemptions that should be available is donations for nation building, and other 80G donations. I think there will be a significant higher compliance to taxes if the rates are reduced and tax net widened and exemptions removed.

Maternity benefits act was amended a few years ago to provide support to female employees by increasing it to 6 months. While it is commendable that the government has done this on par with more highly developed Nordic countries. It puts a significant strain on small companies. I am a first time entrepreneur running a IT company since 2017 and i have so far paid for about 20+ employees. The cost of such maternity not counting the loss of revenue due to long leave is around 1 Crore. This puts a huge financial strain and subconsciously make us think twice before recruiting a female employee. It would be great, if the government can provide some insurance scheme or subsidy on this for small companies. Or alternatively at least change the law to provide full salary for 6 weeks (old law) and Basic Salary only for the remaining period until 6 months or something like that and reduce some pressure on MSMEs.

Reality of India: Chances for Budget transformation 1. Most of MLA or MP or MLC or Polticians are from top 1% rich candidates and mostly from OC except few rich reserved SC ST who are in top 1%. OBC are loosers in these 2. Most of business owned by top 1% and Top govt jobs top 1% from Civil services state roups exams and Central govt Group A & B posts and state level Group1 and goup2 3. Most of Professionals doctors CA's and lawyers and other professionals are top 1% 4. Nowadays youtubers influencers actors sports entertainment science professional it professionals in top 1% so my view is in which ever stream we are, we need to be top 1% means creamy people so what about rest 99% who are dependent on govt or not able to make top 1% so my view is these time budget should focus on 99% people of india who are actual tax payers and who are dependent to get opportunitues to rise and who are backbone of these country and some 10% really poor and in efficient need help.

The Interim Union Budget plays a crucial role in addressing immediate economic challenges. Firstly, focusing on targeted stimulus measures can spur growth and employment, with investments in infrastructure projects and industries that have high job creation potential. Additionally, introducing progressive taxation reforms could enhance revenue streams while ensuring fairness. Allocating resources for healthcare infrastructure and research is essential for pandemic preparedness. Prioritizing digital initiatives and skill development can boost competitiveness and resilience. Finally, fostering sustainable practices through incentives can align economic goals with environmental stewardship, paving the way for a more robust and inclusive economy.
