In the latest episode of Mann Ki Baat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged Indian children to engage with their grandparents and ask them about their life as children: what sports they played, which theatre or cinema they went to, which relatives they visited, festivals they celebrated, and so on.

These stories would not just take the children to India back then, but also be an invaluable treasure for the family, to be cherished forever.

Here’s an opportunity for all children (and adults too), to interview their loved Dada-Dadis, Nana-Nanis or any other elder in the family, like ‘cub reporters’; video record the same; and share with the MyGov family!

Grandparents are the real treasure in families who should be made feel loved and special all day every day. Grandparents Day is primarily celebrated in the United States on the first Sunday after Labor Day when kids honor and express gratitude towards their parent’s parents. The Grandparents Day is assigned an official flower and song by the National Grandparents Day Council. The official flower is forget-me-not and the song is Johnny Prill’s “A Song for Grandma and Grandpa.”
