In December 2014 the United Nations declared 21st June as ‘International Day of Yoga’ after 177 nations across all continents of the world co-sponsored a resolution seeking the same.

When the resolution was adopted, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed immense joy on this and said that Yoga has the power to bring the entire humankind together. It may be recalled that the Prime Minister had mooted such an idea during his speech at the United Nations General Assembly in September 2014.

You are requested to provide inputs on the following aspects relating to the marking of the first ever ‘International Day of Yoga’.

(1) How can the ‘International Day of Yoga’ be celebrated at the UN forum?

(2) Suggest creative ways in which the ‘International Day of Yoga’ can be celebrated at the world stage.

(3) What are ways in which we can mark the ‘International Day of Yoga’ across the length and breadth of India?

Best inputs and suggestions would be sent to the Prime Minister himself and would also be utilized.

I am working for IT company (TCS) in Amsterdam, Netherlands. I have organized a team event to celebrate International Yoga Day where our yoga experts will teach and spread the awareness about this incridible medical science. My family is already a big follower of Yoga and now I am doing my bit to take it forward.

I am practicing Pranayamam for the past 4 years and now can control breathing with out tapping the nostril. I do always breath 23 hours alternative breathings as in Anulom violom, and about an hour in the morning daily, about 10 minutes, each, Suryabedham,Chndrabedham,Kapalapathi, and Left, right all with out tapping nose by fingers. I got the control of breathing by constant breathing exercise daily,an hour and feel healthy, young, energetic at the age of 76!

Hello Sir, I have been receiving you short videos of various yogasanas, however, when i would like to do any yogasana, i have to go back to twitter, search for a particular asana and then do it. If possible, please tell the IT team to send those snippets together as one mail to mail ID, just like i have been receiving and reading the ebooks of your various visits to foreign countries and feeling proud. Thanks.

Corporate culture has be corrected towards healthy living not just in talks but at the ground level. Requesting state to provide free training & practizing spaces for all citizens of India. We need to bring back our culture.
