In December 2014 the United Nations declared 21st June as ‘International Day of Yoga’ after 177 nations across all continents of the world co-sponsored a resolution seeking the same.

When the resolution was adopted, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed immense joy on this and said that Yoga has the power to bring the entire humankind together. It may be recalled that the Prime Minister had mooted such an idea during his speech at the United Nations General Assembly in September 2014.

You are requested to provide inputs on the following aspects relating to the marking of the first ever ‘International Day of Yoga’.

(1) How can the ‘International Day of Yoga’ be celebrated at the UN forum?

(2) Suggest creative ways in which the ‘International Day of Yoga’ can be celebrated at the world stage.

(3) What are ways in which we can mark the ‘International Day of Yoga’ across the length and breadth of India?

Best inputs and suggestions would be sent to the Prime Minister himself and would also be utilized.

its a matter of pride for all of us as yoga is an Indian form of workout, which the 177 nations are also adopting, so the International yoga should be celebrated at the UN forum at some specific time and to increase the number of participation there should be some contest like these days people are crazy for selfies so there could be a contest where the citizens have to upload there picture practicing yoga.

Dear Sir, SUN is the VISUAL GOD to everyone without him we can't exist. Removing SURYA NAMASKAR from International Day of Yoga is really paining. It is most essential for health & worshipping the appearing GOD. Please rethink.

The edorsement by 177 Nations of the declaration of the United Nations of observation of 21st June as International Day of Yoga, is negation of there existing any permanent negativities among the Nations. YOGA IS AN ANCIENT INDIAN CONCEPT WITH ITS VIRTUES HAVING ALREADY ATTAINED ACCEPTANCE IN DIFFERENT PARTS OF THE WORLD FOR DECADES & DECADES NOW. FOR ITS FORMAL RECOGNITION, WHAT NEEDED WAS A FORCEFUL PUSH WHICH WAS PROVIDED BY THE HON'BLE PM AT THE UN. THE RESULT IS THERE TO BE SEEN & FELT!!
