Regulatory bodies are toothless tigers. Unless they really investigate, enforce rules and punish there will be no improvement in conditions. They should be made accountable to the institutions that are inspected. The reports should be available in the public domain for all to see and question.

Lectures need to be replaced by cases, in-class exercises, videos, breakout assignments etc. etc. Only after struggling with practical situations should theory be introduced to the students. Pedagogy has to be replaced by androgogy. To deliver this kind of teaching there is need for training of faculty members. Higher level teaching is no easy task. The teacher has to have more than domain knowledge.

The regulators (NACC and NBA) are too control oriented. There should be a mentoring system rather than a sudden-death system. Everything depends on the whims and fancies of the inspection team. If there is a powerful, strong mentor(s) who would recommend the visit of the team only after the institution complies with some minimum requirements better quality can be ensured. The advise has to be based on the vision of the institution. Inter-institutional social capital is abysmal now.

Regulatory bodies like the UGC, AICTE must focus on framing the goals of regulation and associated rules. They must leave the actual verification of whether institutions are adhering to norms multiple private players. This will help to clear up some of the corruption with regard to regulation. Secondly, regulation must focus more on academic outcomes, and examine faculty qualifications and its evolvement, their academic achievements as well as student outcomes.

If you really want to give strength to India than seriously need to change whole education system after school. After wasting valuable 6 yr( 4[Btech]and 2[Mtech]) of my life i found helpless to my self. There is no need to give 4 yr in btech all course can be compeleted in 2.5 yr there is no need to give 2 mnth in mtech 1 yr is enough .. no need to give 3 yr in phd 2 yr is more than enough .. why you wasting youth life and talent. Someone need seriously take action abou..t it.

Put all education data in a common format on a public portal. One of the biggest gaps in education policy is lack of evidence-based policy making. Putting all data related to education on a common portal will not only make the system more transparent, it will also enable high-impact research in the field which will provide the basis for strong policy.

My suggesions - About Engineering course The education provided in the IIT can be taken as example and all the engineering colleges should be brought like it.Qualified graduates with test scores + Personal interview(to know their real passion for engineering) should be allowed to get admission in engineering colleges. This promotes the value of engineers which has vanished currently.
