I am pursuing architecture. The use of septic tanks and rain water harvesting in every housing project should be innitiated.We did a case study where 'water percolation concrete' is used to make roads which helps to maintain the underground water table.these methods can save water considerably

In my opinion a huge quantity of Drinking water is wasted in Toilets, Washrooms and Home cleaning e.g. Flush, Cleaning Floors, Bathrooms, Trains etc. My suggestion is that we must develop a system of bringing the sea water to these places to utilise such water instead of drinking water. This will save the precious drinking water for future generation.

Mr. Chandrark, I think new building are doing rain water harvesting for existing I think what you have told is correct. It's not only rain water harvesting, government should also plan for re using of water. I have seen in new gated community they reprocess kitchen and bathing water and supply for flushing purpose and for gardening etc. These type of things should be made mandatory for improving water resource.

Sir, we are making many plans for rain water harvesting and also giving reimbursement of some part of expense to persons who are doing rain harvesting. Sir, in my opinion instead of giving reimbursement we should ask the road developing contractors to built rain harvesting pits at the time of developing new roads or maintaining old roads. If this is synchronized then cost will be reduced, more area will come under rain water harvesting especially in urban area where water scarcity is more.

Need to make this mandatory for builders and planning bodies in Cities to put water management strategies in place. For existing, if they build in water harvesting, give them tax rebate and provide them help and technical assistance.
