The enormity of the situation brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic invites – or rather forces – a reflection on the nature and effectiveness of our systems of governance. And not just of health systems, but more broadly the governance of issues in a Pandemic.

Governance, is frequently used to refer to certain positive attributes organizations and institutions (often public institutions) should incorporate. These attributes include some concepts such as:
• Transparency
• Accountability
• Control of corruption
• Efficiency
• Inclusiveness
• Rule of law

This manner of understanding governance, often also referred to as “good governance”, suggests that effective governance is about setting rules and incentives such as enforceable orders, directives or recommendations. Through these, the behaviours of a substantial number of individuals in the group of interest are steered in a direction that is conducive to achieving collective goals.
In the current situation with the on-going COVID-19 pandemic, the central governance issues have been facing a number of challenges. The coronavirus pandemic is here and its effects on lives are still unimaginable. It has opened eyes to the limitations we have to generate effective governance in the face of a public health crisis.

To address the challenges, the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances have operationalized the ‘Idea-Box’ for receiving Ideas and Suggestions on the topic “Good Governance Practice in a Pandemic” with effect from 02.11.2020.

You can share your submissions only in PDF format.

The Department looks forward to your ideas and suggestions on “Good Governance Practice in a Pandemic” in the Idea-Box hosted here.

Sir, Heavy corruption can easily be expected once vaccination process begins. I hope, you record the patient Aadhar number/ unique identifier of the citizen, for whom a vaccination vial number is given. And keep the data public. Decentralizing the verification of records and taking help from general public can avoid heavy corruption in this case. Just a suggestion and you are better than me to figure out the best way. Thank you.

Our Government has taken good care of the citizens so far as the pandemic is concerned. Hats off to the efforts of many frontline workers and the selfless members of all parties. Salute to the ruling government also. Still, we should be smart enough to learn form others too and the best learning can be imbibed from Kerala government. We people take matters lightly, at times, because of which we get into situations that can go offhand. We shall one day overcome and shall reminisce nostagically.

Presently govt need to spend only on sustaining basic facility of survival ,like electricity , water , drainage , ration , and keep on hold other expense till succesful vaccine in major quantity is dispersed, each family if they get above from govt ,is in no hurry to earn more at cost of there lives ,for other expense , in these fashion govt protecting citizens ,cutting expense , avoid further emergency in financial stress ,and spending equal to recovery or surplus with govt , delay bullet train

Its shame that such bank is largest bank of India. Please revolutionarise Banking process. Personally I am afraid of puting my lifetime hard earn savings in private bank. I wish India has good and safe banking system. Banks which are good are not safe. Banks which are safe are not good.
