In order to design an interoperable ecosystem of data, applications and processes, there is a need to formulate a policy for the Government Organizations to provide Open Application Programming Interfaces (APIs). The “Policy on Open APIs for Government of India” has been drafted to encourage formal use of Open APIs in Government Organizations. This policy sets out the Government’s approach on the use of “Open APIs” to promote software interoperability for all e-Governance applications & systems and provide access to data & services for promoting participation of citizens and other stakeholders.

You are requested to provide your inputs on the policy and suggest implementation approach across the government.

API is demand of time. Few Govt. Dept's have Adopted on paper but not honestly. Maharashtra Industrial Development Corp. Ltd accepts applications online for allotments of Indl. Plots, but lines are open for short time for brokers & buarucarrants, general public can not apply online, even early offline applicants eligible for accountable in Merit list are waiting for allotment of plot, due to unfair & malpractice practice in Dept. Hope BJP Govt. may change the policies & grow the industries, jobs

i think the database and the information stored in them is a critical part and the policy should address the security permissions and data sharing between various platforms.

Cashless payment should be encouraged in railway and such places. firstly, it will help in reducing the problem with change, bring accountability, counting, faster processing, etc. There are few problems like security (pickpocket, identity theft) and lack of knowledge on its usage. The latter could be solved by simple demonstration (practical experience) and there are many works on fraud detection, suspicious card usage detection, etc.

I am a researcher currently working in the area of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) based image processing for Agricultural applications. I have a blue print of an autonomous robotic blimp based irrigation system. This aligns with our beloved PMs mantra of ‘per drop more crop’. I am reaching out through this forum to seek support in realising this objective and make a difference to our farmers and our mother land. Vande mataram

Also all service points of GOI like railway booking counter should be supplied with coins and lower denomination notes to increase their circulation and the board noting "Tender exact changes" should be removed.

For country like India who develops software for world, important is not just to use foreign free and cheap open software but to develop our own ecosystem, remain self reliance and support Indian software companies. Lets take an example, PM communicates with world using American companies like facebook, twitter , google etc. What if in hour of need, US decides to stop these media ? IT is forte’ of India, if government decides, we can develop our own Operating system, let it be any API or tool…

Central Govt. should ensure availability of coins and lower denomination notes up to 10 rupees in market .Because of unavailability of changes many times people have to pay more for goods and services. The govt should ask all banks private and Govt to provide coins and lower denomination notes to public as per demand at present only SBI in many areas is handling the coin distribution, thus generating long queues. Also ATMs should have systems to coins and upto 10 rupee notes and is a govt job.
