Ban plastic bags and educate people to go green as much as possible. Schools can be encouraged to hold plays depicting use of renewable and biodegradable products.
Also make use of mobile receipts and online bills to save paper consumption. It should start from government offices itself.

by which customers will bring their own jute bags or baskets. This can be started with help of students. My other view is a person entering into a store/tourist spot/other places with a plastic bag/cups/bottles/plates also should be sent returned strictly away from the place.Sharing messages on social networks will be of use if the person reading it brings awareness among 2 or 3 children in the locality.Because school childern and our younger cousins tend to learn from us and we remain as example.

It is responsibility of every citizen not to use plastic bags and also if using them not to litter.Imposing fine and seizure of stocks would create a fear in mind but this fear is of no use.It should be shown or done practically. Many super markets should bring up this initiative and it is only possible with them.A customer asks for a plastic bag and they charge him Rs2 and give it.Instead if a customer asks for a plastic bag he must be imposed fine of Rs5 and also should not be given any bag.

The only way possible to ban plastic is to ban plastic manufacturing companies. And the plastic already present can be used to lay roads as done by Rasool and Ahmed Khan.

One of the major source of pollution is plastic bag. Major parts of the country uses plastic as carry bag ...all the plastic bag manufacturing industries should be banned and provided with the alternative work of producing paper as well as jute bags..! River Ganga is more polluted due to dumping of all the garbages into it.. .its eradication should begin with the Little effort of all the citizens of our counrty with a Little contribution of our govt.

The problem is not with plastic bags.It is with our habits of littering and unjustified rampant use just becoz it is cheap.Plastic bags constitute small fraction of total plastic used, and less than a percent of all the waste. Cost of production of plastic items is far too less than those of paper, metal items of same utility. It should be banned from root level that is manufacturing level, high tax on low quality production. In market the shortfall of these items automatically switch to paperbag
