Sir why cant we adopt methods to recycle the waste completly and produce electricity instead dumping on land which inturn pollutes the air very badly and with the electricity generated we can light up many villages and thus make our dream to provide electricity to all the places in india. Also i have heard about using the recyled waste in laying roads which lasts for longer time. Hope my small idea though not new but it shows my concern about my own country and its development.

Respected Sir , We can synthesize many Bio-degradable Plastics , which would capability to decay by the microbes just like paper , wool, leather etc. . Not only these polymers will be bio-degradable but will also provide artificial cotton , wool , silk , leather like fabric and clothes . These will provide not only a complete solution of plastic pollution but a lot of employment also. But you have to support us financially and publish these articles in Media. Please read all pdf .

Can we look at low hanging fruits with mass impact for eg milk in polythene bags can be completely banned...imagine the volume generated every day due to milk pouches...in the olden days, we were using glass bottles...not sure why it can be done now?

Please ban manufacturing and selling of polythene bags. Give the new technology to the manufacturer for manufacturing environmental friendly products for carrying. Give interest subvention and tax holidays, duty free for manufacturing of environmental friendly products. Finally give awareness to the people for not using polythene bags.

Its very simple. Ban the manufacturing. A Timeline should be given to all manufacturers and compensation should also be provided.

It's a good initiative but not the right approach. The problem should be tackled at root level. I am unable to understand that government is not banning plastic bag manufacturing units but panelizing public for using it. It is similar approach as for smoking I.e. supporting big manufacturing cigrate companies and telling public that smoking is dangerous.

likin sab recycle ke piche kyu hai jabki pahile ham sab kapde ke bags use karte the tabhi koi problem nahi tha tho agar o cycle dobar suru kare to fir ye recycle karne ki jarurat hi nahi or ham ye plastic recycle karke bhi apni dharti mata ho rahi hani to rok nahi sakte hai agar plstic ke badle kapde ya khadi ka bag use karte hai jo garib star ke log hai unko kam bhi milega ,mahilya ye kam ghar bahithe kar skte hai ghar or desh ki arthvavstme hath de sakti hai

Using these new age vending machines http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2730872/An-idea-s-dog-s-dinner-Company-creates-vending-machine-feeds-stray-animals-return-people-recycling-bottles.html can solve 2 purposes. One it will help keep our cities clean and second, it will feed hungry animals and instill sympathy and compassion in people which our country desperately needs today. As Mahatma Gandhi said "“The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals."

I have seen countries using railway sleepers made from recycled plastic which are long lasting and can replace current concrete sleepers, not just for Chandigarh, this should be done all over India.
And speaking of ban, bags should be made from coir, paper, etc materials which can decompose easily and that work of making bags should be given to poor to create employment.
