The only
thing we can do is better drainage system. Better sewage issues by all
drainage pipelines. So for that we have to solve issues related to solid
waste materials. That can be done on a high scale by only recycling.
Installing recycle plants.

A smart city cannot have vendors selling fruits, vegetables on road sides and under bridges. Very large 'mandis' should be constructed in central areas where all the vendors can come together to sell their products. Mandis should not be present in a haphazard manner. They should be ideally in the form of a big park where shops are arranged. Sellers must be given incentives to sell their produce in such mandis.
Butcher shops, alcohol shops should be moved to city limits.

Road systems should be modernized and interchanges should be built where ever needed, one example is cloverleaf interchange which is very common in other countries. More underpasses and overpasses should be constructed.

Commuting should be easy for all class of people. It should be at such level that even a Physically Challenged can move form one place to other without any help. For Ex: Where there is a stairs for normal people, There must be a slope, elevator or lift facility for Physically Challenged. Same you can find in most of the country of Europe.

A clean Gomti river will increase Lucknow's charm manifold and then the banks can be developed and beautified. Ferries can be run as a part of river transport, which will cut down travel time within the city dramatically.
