Solar energy should be used for electricity production so as to reduce depletion of coal resources used in production of thermal power. A drastic need for public toilets is felt so care should be taken in this context as well.Proper ducting of utility services like Electricity and Telephone lines.

The main way, in my opinion, that private investment in public infrastructure can improve the situation in India’s cities (and elsewhere) is as a source of capital, a key constrained resource.

Lucknow should leverage technology to overcome its waste disposal problem - in around 98% colonies sewer lines are connected with drains. It needs a centralised automated system for waste management wherein waste is picked up from the doorstep of all households and industries, collected at a central location, and then treated, recylced or disposed as the case may be. This will reduce inappropriate waste disposal by the citizens and will also bring down wastage.

Smart city Lucknow cannot have people driving badly on roads. Make the driving license tests hard and stringent, free of corruption so that people may become better drivers. Getting a driving license in other countries is as hard as cracking IIT.
