I am from Kerala;47 years;Post graduate. When I looking back to my education,I can find majority of the things that I studied is not necessary for life.In the other side ,the things that very much needed for life is not studied and nobody teaches.
So my suggestion is prime importance of our education should be that help to our future life and to find livelihood.Reduce our overloaded syllabus especially in the school level.

more secondary education institutions is the only solution.
1) upgrade existing primary schools into secondary.
2) open new secondary schools.(ppp mode linked with CSR can be used)
3) set state-wise targets to open secondary schools and incentivize the state governments on meeting the same.

In an overall review of the school and university level education,we can find we giving over importance for languages in our present education system. This is an extension of make clerks education policy of the old British rule.
So my suggestion is avoid compulsory language study after 10th.Concentrate more to get an education to find a livelihood for the student.Simplify the syllabus. Now it is overloaded for the students.

Now in Bachelor Degree level,English and one language is compulsory for all degree students. This is unnecessary. One who want to study languages ,they can take language stream in Degree.Avoid compulsory languages in Degree level. Then students can concentrate more on their core subjects.

Students should be encouraged to develop 21st century skills. Please remember that scientific skills does not mean memorization of facts but hands on experience. We need to use posthole approach instead of ball-of-string approach for teaching.
We also need to expose our students to global views. Many private schools are using the platform of Face to Faith programme to connect to students of different schools across the world. Why can't we use it in our government schools?
