With a dramatic growth in elementary education enrolments and improvements in retention and transition rates in recent years, particularly amongst the more disadvantaged groups, there is an increasing pressure on the secondary schools to admit more students. With the enforcement of RTE Act and further improvement in retention and transition rates, demand for secondary schooling will grow rapidly in the coming years. The objective of this discussion group is to assess to what extent we have made quality education available, accessible and affordable to the target population in the age group of 14–18 years. How we can increase access to post elementary education across the country in a manner so as to ensure no child is denied the opportunity of completing his/her school education. In particular, how can we address the geographical and social disparities in secondary education?

i think our gov is doing a excellent job and we are really prod of our pm but the weakest link of gov is in the field of education specially in primery and seconday education education ministry has not shown any long term plan in this field i think there should be some projects in cordination withe state gov in this field , big business houses like reliance ,tata. and others should be involved in such projects empowering primery and secondary education

The most important part in the secondary education is understanding of concepts, basics of laws etc. During my visit to Poland and Nederlands I came across a science lab wherein they have put most of the practical examples of physical laws with use prototype machines. Its easy to remember if we see any thing by our own eyes. I would request atleast one such facility per state. If we could prepare such labs

I like to draw the attention to the desirability of opening of Class XI–Sci. in KV Dwarka(Guj)as here,no school of Science Stream (either in State Govt.or CBSE affiliated School).KV Dwarka has 'A' Type School building in which all facilities and infrastructure are also as per CBSE norms.Mostly bright students belong to middle class. They have to take other stream in studies because of not having the facility of Science stream.Humbly request you to permit Class XI-Sci in KV Dwarka(Guj)in 2015-16.

There is need to link education from village to town/cities. Each village must have a primary school upto class V. Thereafter, each taluk must have one Navodaya/Sainik School capable of housing 1000 students for imparting secondary education (upto class XII). Beyond Secondary edn be linked to employment, based on skills for local industry including learning foreign language skills. Certain colleges imparting traditional commerce, science and art streams be estb for students pursuing higher edn

my suggestion for making uniform Maths and Science eduaction all over india. There are many boards in india like central board, state boards and so on. all are teaching various subjects language, social study, maths, science etc. in my view all boards should have same maths and science books as those are universal subjects. one can have state history and other things differ but not in case of maths and science.
