In order to equip them to look after their needs, it is necessary to impart skills to them. Most of them are unskilled and this makes their rehabilitation in alternative occupations very challenging.

What are the ways in which beggars/ destitutes can be skilled and gainfully employed so that they do not return to begging?

Participants may share success stories, as they may be aware of.

Last date for sending your suggestions is 18th November, 2014.

Dear PM Sir, in Mumbai i feel helpless when i see begging mafias pushing children at every railway station and traffic signal. Such mafias are only existing because of a nexus with local police, station masters and such authorities. Why else are normal ppl caught without tickets and fined, but these beggars are seen daily on the same platform absolutely scot free? Ditto with beggars who beg in presence of cops at crowded traffic jns.

Dear PM Ji. There is an issue of big concern. Punjab state is running De-Addiction campaign which has impacted nearby states- Haryana and Rajasthan. Punjab Police is doing a wrong practice. They are trapping innocent people from HRY and RAJ to get rank promotions. Punjab Police is assisting home grown trafficker to bring people from nearby state, luring with quick money making. Innocent persons from HRY and RAJ are prisoned in Punjab jails in thousands. Need yor help to free those innocents?

Secondly for rehabilitation purpose . there should be shelter home in every district , but most important thing that don't provide them room freely otherwise they stay at night and begging in day , inspite of this they should provide some works to do like the prisoners do in jail and earn money ..... And that money which beggars earn from work can be used in providing friendly environment to them. ..

All the beggars may be involved in some social work like river cleaning, midday meal cooking, etc and are provided with food, clothes, shelter and some pocket money.

Its very important to give shelter to them because starting of a good life is always starts with our home if we have one we care for it, we do something for betterment of it. they will get a hope of better living for them and their children............we may involve them in making their on homes.

The previous government proposed rehabilitation centers for beggars where they can stay and learn some skill for their livelihood .I don't know whether the proposal was realised.I request the concerned officials to let the people know where such centers are and how they are working. It is high time that every town should have atleast one such center.
