Mangalore City Corporation (MCC) is glad to inform its citizens that Mangalore has been shortlisted among 100 cities which are ought to be developed as Smart Cities in concurrence to the Smart City Mission Guidelines of MoUD, GOI. Based on the responses received from citizens during Round one and two alongside considering the scheme guidelines, the Corporation has proposed two pan-city proposals, highlighted as below;

1. “One Touch Mangaluru”
2. Smart Utility Management System for water, waste management and electricity

More details of the project are available in the MCC website.

All citizens of Mangaluru are requested to go through the project details and submit their views w.r.t the proposals through www.mygov.in

Last date for submission is 11th December 2015.

We request you to kindly make your voices count in the due process.

The Pan city initiative with it's multiple approach is truly an empowering platform. it can lead to increased efficiency,transparency,accountability and make Mangaluru one of the smartest cities of India!

Draft smart city proposal contains many of the elements related to development, basic amenities, IT solutions, etc., But after encountering the flood situation at Chennai, Mumbai and many other city in the countries and also the artificial situation of floods in Mangaluru during 2012, we have to consider the climate resilient plans and recovery management for the city without which the coastal city suffer the major blow on any developmental aspects

As a Mangalorean, I had gone through the proposal and also gone through others proposals also. But there is a change showing the new expansion towards Smart Mangaluru. Great work by Mangaluru City Corporation and others involved towards preparation of document. The proposal is very good and it is definite that Mangaluru will stay at the top of the selection list....

pollution free atmosphere by controlling vehicles who make more pollution and make Park for the retired old people and a cycle track free from noise..

There are two proposal , one is area base and another pan city solution. We are happy that smart public transport and solid waste management have been chosen for whole city.

Good proposal which unifies the twin city using it's strengths and opportunities. Area Based development has been proposed keeping in mind the needs of Mangaluru citizens. Hopefully it gets implemented soon and becomes a model city for others to follow.
