Jaipur Municipal Corporation has received overwhelming response from its citizen in smart city suggestions and ideas to improve their city under Smart City Challenge.

As part of citizen engagement & consultation process (for preparation of Smart City Proposal) Jaipur Municipal Corporation organized a wide range of activities - e.g. Ward level consultations, Stakeholders Consultations, Blog writing competition, Logo making competition etc starting from 1stOct 2015 to 30th Nov 2015. Apart from this, other social media tools (Facebook, Twitter, Nagar nigam Website, Smart City Website) used to reach citizens.

Citizen interactions, expert opinions, and deliberations by departments have all contributed to developing this Smart City Proposal. Before the proposal is submitted to MoUD for its kind consideration, all citizens of the city are invited to give their feedback on the proposal developed.

I think first stop the Tabbacco & polybags , setup of toilets at every crossing. And roads should be cleaned & proper .

In order to make this city a smart city , government first need to make changes inside there offices such as- Still in many nagar nigam offices, there is power cut issues for more then one day .There should be adequate power backups.

Stoppage of buses at only bus stops. - Penalty on buses who carry more passengers as compare to capacity. - An app where complaints can be lodged for rash driving. - Takinf-off the buses which are very old, polluting too much.

Smart City concept requires expertize that are familiar with some of the progressive thinking with a selfless attitude so that all aspects of future scope is viewed with a broad mind and also a neutral mind.

Cities face huge challenges: congestion, pollution, crime, debt, and rising costs — while competing with each other for investment, jobs, and talents. The first principle in this is to accept that we have to renew what already exists. Take water, for example. Our cities have been built to optimise on the available resources. They were smart in building lakes and ponds to harvest every drop of rain.

t is mandatory that the city is neat and clean, which is not possible without active support of citizens. The municipal councillors should organise fortnightly meeting in their respective wards (Not just meeting of their party workers), take suggestions from citizens and should ensure that the suggestions are really implemented.
