India is among 51 countries to sign the “Rome Declaration” on “Achieving Self-sufficiency in Safe Blood and blood products based voluntary non-remunerated donation”. Blood is an intrinsic requirement for health care and proper functioning of the health system. National AIDS Control Organization under Department of Health and Family Welfare has been primarily responsible for ensuring provision of safe blood for the country since 1992. National Blood Policy 2003 reiterates firmly the government’s commitment to provide safe and adequate quantity of blood, blood components and blood products.

However, in India, a needy patient or his relatives have to run from pillar to post in search of blood and the onus of procurement of blood still lies with the patient and not with the service provider.

Suggestions are invited on how to develop a nationally coordinated and well networked blood transfusion service in the country and reach 100% voluntary blood donation to enable us to meet the global goal of self sufficiency in blood and blood products.

Very appreciable idea and effort if it works in the way. Generally, blood donation has become a business and plenty of people force to die without money to get blood. Yes, i also praise govt. here for starting SMS facility to get the blood which has been a wonderful cause. I think record of blood donation has to be very authentic and perfect. Still to improve the Mobile blood banks in each cities of India. We hope it will also be done as other things getting done.

Sir, regarding issue of PAN cards to very about citizens, the incom. tax department is insisting on producing birth, school leaving certificate or am affidavit before a magistrate. Old passorts issued to these senior citizens, which have not been renewed are not accepted as proof of date of birth. This is creating a lot of hardships to very senior citizens. A self attested declaration of date of birth should be made acceptable for citizens over the age of 75 years.

Sir, 67 long years have passed since our "independence" and yet most of the people in India still do not get safe drinking water at home. Can you please plan to provide safe drinking water - that can be safely consumed without any further treatment at home - to at least 50% of the population by 2019? As an extension to this request, can you please plan to install clean, hygenic and world-class drinking water facilities in at least 50% of the rail stations by 2019?

I proud to be An Indian. There is no Doubt about potential in Indian People. In my view there should be panel of expertise who can manage and explore the best possibilities from the various Resources and manpower availability in the country and they should also be provided the freedom to implement and execute their best of knowledge which will in turn help in the country's overall growth. The Guidelines or Regulations suggested by the panel should be taken into consideration .

village Reconstruction;- India lives in 7+ lakh villages.70% population still live there. village is soul of India. but this soul is bleeding with pain&suffering, poverty, illiteracy&disease. before we talk of smart cities,mega-cities,mega-projects, we must free the village from want, disease&unemployment.Village reconstruction work must be taken on bigger scale with revival of age old Art&craft, giving priority to education&health care programs, providing transport& communication to all villages.

There are number of young doctors doing such MBBS course from abroad and are pouring in Ahmedabad. State government should facilitate their posting (obviously they do their private practise not being paid by Gov) at Taluka level of Ahmedabad district to cover 5-7 villages which do not have permanent doctor. If they do for 3 years then they do not need to pass entrance exam and they're free to practise anywhere in India. It will be about Trust in these youngsters who can make difference.!
