India is among 51 countries to sign the “Rome Declaration” on “Achieving Self-sufficiency in Safe Blood and blood products based voluntary non-remunerated donation”. Blood is an intrinsic requirement for health care and proper functioning of the health system. National AIDS Control Organization under Department of Health and Family Welfare has been primarily responsible for ensuring provision of safe blood for the country since 1992. National Blood Policy 2003 reiterates firmly the government’s commitment to provide safe and adequate quantity of blood, blood components and blood products.

However, in India, a needy patient or his relatives have to run from pillar to post in search of blood and the onus of procurement of blood still lies with the patient and not with the service provider.

Suggestions are invited on how to develop a nationally coordinated and well networked blood transfusion service in the country and reach 100% voluntary blood donation to enable us to meet the global goal of self sufficiency in blood and blood products.

For 100% voluntary, kindly post more advertisements on pvt tv channels. At present, there is very less advertisement on pvt tv channels regarding blood donation to be a great service to the nation. Also the quality of ads needs to be upgraded. We are sick of having those boring ads that the govt of India has stood for steadfastly for 60 years.

For creating access, create more lucrative job opportunities in the rural areas. For safe, apart from standard checks, add Hepatitis C too in the list of tests to be done before labelling a blood sample safe.

Our parliament sessions should run to the planned time period, if some MP is disturbing the session,he should pay all the expenses for that day or duration when the session was on hold. And the session should run for the planned period, that is if 10days session planned it should continue and complete 10days sessions & no matter this takes 30days. Sleeping & shouting MPs to be sent out. Automatic mike should be arranged in the parliament house, which should allow only one MP to speak at a time.

My slumbered thoughts were awaken by the vigorous speech and ideas of Honorable Mr. Nerendra Modi but now the news of (DHARMANTARAN ) incarnation into Hinduism from other religions has pricked my heart and some questions have raised in my mind that if a single religion is the solution than there would not be Battle of Mahabharata, there would not be Protestant in Christianity and there would not be Siya and Sunni in Islam..Again there would not be downfall of USSR. Live & let live with dignity.

Dear Team, Today Hospitals specially Corporate / Private are the best EXTORTION PLACE. Hospitals are careless and doctors busy with private clinics. Govt Hospitals are pathetic and care is ZERO. Middle class is the only sufferer today and we need to have strict Laws to handle the irresponsible attitude of the hospitals. How can we get the best treatment in a better cheaper manner is to be answered.

Mobile app for medical funding (medical spends for the poor through the rich): Just the way we have the online shopping sites, the Govt. can make a site where we connect the needy (poor) and the rich (who may want to help the needy). Usually a poor person does not know charity institutions but he may log in to a app through which the giver pays the hospital or the medical center. This will reduce the poverty (most money gets spent on treatments) and help the needy. We will save many lives.
