India is among 51 countries to sign the “Rome Declaration” on “Achieving Self-sufficiency in Safe Blood and blood products based voluntary non-remunerated donation”. Blood is an intrinsic requirement for health care and proper functioning of the health system. National AIDS Control Organization under Department of Health and Family Welfare has been primarily responsible for ensuring provision of safe blood for the country since 1992. National Blood Policy 2003 reiterates firmly the government’s commitment to provide safe and adequate quantity of blood, blood components and blood products.

However, in India, a needy patient or his relatives have to run from pillar to post in search of blood and the onus of procurement of blood still lies with the patient and not with the service provider.

Suggestions are invited on how to develop a nationally coordinated and well networked blood transfusion service in the country and reach 100% voluntary blood donation to enable us to meet the global goal of self sufficiency in blood and blood products.

One importer aspect to discus with the blood donation.I am an regular donor of blood from my collage days. but for last 6 month I refused to donate Bcoz for an incident with my friend he approached me for blood in urgent. I refereed the blood bank which known to me. They refused to give blood to the person I refereed. rejecting by saying blended reason. That made me to stop donating indeed i can donate directly to the needed patients. This should be eliminated.

First, we need to project the whole life cycle of human beings and rationalize the need for blood and blood donation in a documentary, so that everybody (irrespective of their literacy levels) can understand the value of voluntary blood donation.Second, increase the perception of sterilization procedures, used in blood donation process. Last, creation of 'reward', like a certificate that counts in Indian jobs, which will motivate educated, yet reluctant students to donate blood voluntarily.

we need to change health care system in India. Our medical training system is not good. Even best medical students fail to become good doctors and good doctors who want to do something good for the community, have to struggle a lot in this current system. Good doctors do not want to enter in government system and those who enter it is very difficult for them to be good.

News papers are platforms for a variety of commercial advertisements. Some advertisements are full page, others half page of quarter page. Considering the number of newspapers in India, and the increasing number of larger advertisements, the loss of newsprint to the country, its cost in terms of loss of forests and escalation of greenhouse gases is high. Can the Govt take some measure to minimize the loss of newsprint. For example, limit size of commercial advts to half page or quarter page?

esi harkato se to desh gulam hoga hi hoga. is desh m baghdadi ko ane se nhi rok sakte agar logo ki soch esi rahi to. apne hi dharm k prati vishwas nhi h to dusre dharm k to tumhara ghar khali krwayenge. jb tak apne dhrm k anusar achran sahi rakhte ho to na hi koi gulam bna sakta h n koi badnam kr sakta h. is desh m kuch buddhijivi sadhu santo k anpadhsamajte h jbki jo wastav m sachi tarah sanskarit or padhe likhe bhale degree na ho magar gyan sabse zyada unke pas hota h.
