The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has been mandated by the TRAI Act, 1997 to regulate the tariffs offered by the Telecom Service Provider for its various services. The telecommunications sector in India has witnessed several changes in the past few years in terms of the tariff offerings of various telecom service providers. This has not only resulted in an exponential increase in the use of telecom services but has also resulted in the tariffs of telecom services in India being amongst the lowest in the world.

In the last few months, many concerns have been raised about the health of the Indian telecom sector and the need to fix a floor price for telecom services. TRAI has so far observed a policy of forbearance in respect of telecom tariffs for valid reasons. It gives the service providers the freedom and flexibility to design their tariff offerings as per the demands of the market. It gives free play to the forces of healthy competition and has resulted in an exponential growth in the Indian telecom sector in the past two decades. Most economists also advise against market interventions by the regulator in tariff fixation.

However, ensuring the provision of ever-increasing data consumption and a good Quality of Service requires a lot of investment in maintaining and improving telecom infrastructure. Fast pace of technological changes in the sector require huge capital investments. Telecom sector is the infrastructure provider for many other sectors of the economy. Thus, making sure that the telecom sector remains healthy and its orderly growth are equally important.

Considering this aspect, a consultation paper on “Tariff Issues of Telecom Services” has been issued on 17th December, 2019 to invite comments from all the stakeholders, on various issues relating to tariff in telecom sector.

The consultation paper on “Tariff Issues of Telecom Services” has been uploaded on TRAI’s website (www.trai.gov.in). The written comments on the issues raised in the consultation paper are invited from the stakeholders by 17th January, 2020 and counter-comments by 31st January, 2020.

सभी कंपनियों के रेट एक ही होने चाहिए । ताकि हर उपभोक्ता को दूसरा कुछ सोचने की जरूरत ही न पड़े और सिम भी एक होना चाहिए जिसे अपनी मर्ज़ी से किसी भी नेटवर्क के साथ जोड़ा जा सके

Only 2 important suggestions which wil make this system best and consumers wiil be delighted •reduce the Network capacity fees(NCF)(maximum NCF should be less than 100) •don't dusable DD SPORTS at time of india match for any service provider THANKS.

1) No channels should be free.there will be no local channels.price should be deceided by government only.for any private dth only native channel must be given priority with decision of viewers upto ₹150.no ads will be published if cost is need by companies of dth. 2) for mobile service providers ,they must give all outgoing calls for free for their customers if they reached more than 3 months continuously for year.and bsnl should be improved and privates are only within control of government.

प्रीपेड सेवा में कुछ बदलाव करना चाहिए ,जो आम लोगों की पहुंच में हो इस गरीब जनता की पहुंच में मोबाइल है। प्रीपेड नहीं है क्योंकि इसकी रेट काफी बढ़ चुकी है जो पॉसिबल नहीं है हर एक लोगों पर एक ही रेट तय हो सके मैं आपसे गुजारिश करता हूं ।भारतीय लोगों के लिए प्रीपेड सेवा में बेहतरीन ऑफर देने की कृपया करें और इस गरीब जनता के सेवा में बेहतर प्रीपेड सेवा होना जरूरी है इस महंगाई के अवस्था में प्रीपेड सेवा थोड़ी सस्ती होनी चाहिए ताकि प्रतिदिन कमाने वाले गरीब जनता तय रकम पर होना चाहिए।

Issue of tarrif: Now a day's small kids also rapidly use smart phones then that they don't know what happens in future so that better to ban telicom atlest 1 month And recently iuc charges also increased ,it cause for only pure people's, so that better invent min packs i.e only for calls ,they Don't know how to utilize data balance but he payed amount to the telicom. Thanks any mistakes my side sorry..this my own opinion

Hi sir, my problem is if I call to other networks you are making fine . So pls don't make the fine . I think in future the telecom services have the more ideas to make digital services. And protect the people from the siber crimes. Thank you sir . For giving me this opportunity.

BSNL should become 5G and get back all the customers who ported to others. Potential should be increased & govt should support in all the to reach high at par with all others.
