The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has been mandated by the TRAI Act, 1997 to regulate the tariffs offered by the Telecom Service Provider for its various services. The telecommunications sector in India has witnessed several changes in the past few years in terms of the tariff offerings of various telecom service providers. This has not only resulted in an exponential increase in the use of telecom services but has also resulted in the tariffs of telecom services in India being amongst the lowest in the world.

In the last few months, many concerns have been raised about the health of the Indian telecom sector and the need to fix a floor price for telecom services. TRAI has so far observed a policy of forbearance in respect of telecom tariffs for valid reasons. It gives the service providers the freedom and flexibility to design their tariff offerings as per the demands of the market. It gives free play to the forces of healthy competition and has resulted in an exponential growth in the Indian telecom sector in the past two decades. Most economists also advise against market interventions by the regulator in tariff fixation.

However, ensuring the provision of ever-increasing data consumption and a good Quality of Service requires a lot of investment in maintaining and improving telecom infrastructure. Fast pace of technological changes in the sector require huge capital investments. Telecom sector is the infrastructure provider for many other sectors of the economy. Thus, making sure that the telecom sector remains healthy and its orderly growth are equally important.

Considering this aspect, a consultation paper on “Tariff Issues of Telecom Services” has been issued on 17th December, 2019 to invite comments from all the stakeholders, on various issues relating to tariff in telecom sector.

The consultation paper on “Tariff Issues of Telecom Services” has been uploaded on TRAI’s website (www.trai.gov.in). The written comments on the issues raised in the consultation paper are invited from the stakeholders by 17th January, 2020 and counter-comments by 31st January, 2020.

Since we pay for a particular speed and 24 hours a day, any breakdown without any valid reasons, must be made punishable. The service providers will be made to pay 500 times of the package, a consumer has subscribed to. N It has already become a joke about the service provider, the speed and the present government...

मेरे विचार से दूरसंचार कंपनियों के लिए कुछ मानक तय किए जाएं जैसे काल ड्राप पर कम्पनियों ने कुछ नहीं किया और ना ही इंटरनेट स्पीड के मानकों पर कोई कम्पनी खरी उतरी है। और तो और इनके टैरिफ प्लान में भी पार्दृशिता नहीं है। सभी नागरिकों को बेवकूफ बनाने और अपने बैंक खाते भरने की कोशिश कर रहे हैं। उपभोक्ताओं की शिकायतों को गंभीरता से नहीं लिया जाता है और न ही कोई अपीलीय प्राधिकरण है जो कम्पनी की जबावदेही सुनिश्चित करें। सरकारी तंत्र अपने राजस्व को बढ़ावा देने के बाद इतिश्री समझ लेते हैं।

Abolish Circle system.Uniform rate for call and net throughout the NATION. Improvement required particularly BSNL -Cellone Services. Conectivity problem in RURAL area is more than 90% Service provider's Non Co-opration is biggest ⁉️ IMPROVE upto World Standard the BSNL Service , Others will atommeticly improve ! Uniform policy for CABLE Operation RATE etc. U R the best judge,if HONESTLY keep consumers ahead ALL'🇮🇳

विभिन्न डीटीएच कम्पनियों के पैकेज बहुत ही महंगे हैं।कुछ समय पूर्व ट्राई के निर्देशों के बावजूद इनमें कमी नहीं आई।मनोरंजन के लिए ऐसी मनमानी पर अंकुश जरूरी है।चैनलों और पैकेज के दाम तर्कसंगत हों। समाचार,छात्रोपयोगी और ज्ञानवर्धक चैनलों को काफी कम दाम पर उपलब्ध कराया जाए इसी प्रकार मोबाईल कंपनियों का मनमाना मूल्यवृद्धि समझ से परे है।जिओ की सस्ती सेवा की लत फिर उनका बेतहाशा दाम बढ़ाना गलत है।इन मोबाईल कम्पनियों पर कड़ी कार्रवाई की जाए जिससे जनता को लाभ मिल सके।

network should be available in remote areas,even sometimes it is not available indoors.First and foremost I'd provider should issue connection only if network in the area is good

DTH: It should be charged per 30 minutes slots for those channels watched. There should be options to choose rental option between monthly or hours. In monthly option customer allowed to watch all channels and charged money deductions will continue like prepaid mobile billing. Mobile: abolish of 6 paisa charge should done quickly to roll out better services for common people.

Never bring 5G or make Huawei the service provider for India. The radiation signals are affecting several natural species especially Bulbul & birds etc. Please do NOT Permit Import or Manufacture of any installation that violate the radiation limit or having capacity to exceed standard limits. Provide info on the scale of Radio frequency to all mobile users through fixed default app. Do not liquidate BSNL in view of application of Swadeshi policy. Allow few pise for donation to Jawans & Kissans.

Dear sir Good Evening As you know that lot of people including non employed have a sufficient money for serving thier family so they can't afford these increased cost of mobile of every month for calling Electricity ,water ,gas and other expenses are already weighted for every poor family .such they know that how they manage so please kindly remove system of every month incoming recharge and reduced the cost of free to free calling

Hon'ble commission, my submission is .. if any tariff must be fix as not commercial method....it must be public service method....like ex.indian railway...Gov't must be improve BSNL FRIST Imprve our home(BSNL)...they only possible service through BSNL only .pl.frst prefer allot the spectrum (4G) to BSNL.
