The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) sent a reference dated 22nd August 2019, seeking recommendations of TRAI on reserve prices for 283 cities (260 new + 23 existing), under FM Phase-III Policy.

Accordingly, this Consultation Paper has been prepared to seek the comments/views of the stakeholders on the issues related to estimation of the reserve prices for auction of FM Radio channels.

As part of the consultative process, the Consultation Paper has been uploaded on the TRAI website. Written comments on the consultation paper are invited from the stakeholders by 6th November 2019. Counter-comments, if any, may be submitted by 13th November 2019.

The price will be in my opinion depending on the factors like : 1. Population of the area 2. Advertisement income 3. Government issues brodocasted 4. Languages covered 5. Age wise sector covered 6. Health issues covered 7. Public safety related matters . Initial price will be same . After intervel of 3 months , price will be determined analysing the above points .

There is no space in this policy for entrepreneurs. All the things in choice of contents is with Govt. Policy should be more friendly to new entrants. The entry fees be low for new entrepreneurs. The profit sharing in revenue with them be there instead. Certain time slot be fixed for local/state/ central Govt. Following certain norms and labour laws be recognized and in lieu certainbenefit in form of tax rebate or preference be given
