Ministry of Health and Family Welfare proposes to set up a National e-Health Authority (NeHA) responsible for development of an Integrated Health Information System in India. It will also be responsible for enforcing the laws & regulations relating to the privacy and security of the patients health information & records.

Ministry of Health and Family Welfare is seeking your comments/suggestions/views on this document.

NeHA a good e health initiative, but I would like to suggests that all the medical educational institutes be equipped with the latest technology say for example the Radiology Deptt at some places are operation on the old x -ray machines. There is a dire need to go for digital x ray machines.

The E-Health App should have alerts, notifications, reminders etc. to the doctors and patients as per the preference of the users.

E-health services-nothing is free and should be charged nominally from its users. General Public below poverty line may not be charged initially but later say after 3 years. Declare this statement from day one.

E-health should provide info about different types of vaccinations, their use, periodicity and time line specifically of children etc. and whenever the vaccination is given to any patients it should be recorded for future tracking.

All Hospital, clinics and medical stores are required to update the stock of emergency life saving drugs for urgent requirements into the E-Health data base.

E-health authority should have a app for public grievances in case of poor quality of health services or deficiency or negligence or over-charging.

where there is price control of drugs/medicines - the updated price control order issued by the drug controller be uploaded on the website for public.

E-health authority shall maintain the details of different types of drugs/medicines which are manufactured/imported in to the country like its composition, use, side effects, precautions before use as certified by the manufacturer and drug controller.
