The Prime Minister shared a visionary approach to transform the development journey of our villages in the form of the Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana. The initiative calls upon MPs to select a village in their constituency and make it a Model Village by 2016. Furthermore, the number of model villages should increase as time progresses so that in a decade a large number of villages become Model Villages across India.

The rationale behind a landmark idea such as this is clear- India lives in the villages and India will only progress when our villages progress. Development of villages can happen best when everybody walks shoulder to shoulder and contributes towards the comprehensive development of the village. And who better than the local Members of Parliament to drive this change!

This specially created forum on MyGov invites out of the box ideas on how the Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana can become the driving force in bringing a qualitative difference in our villages. Lets make the development of our villages a grand mass movement and together create a golden future for rural India.

On basis of smart cities, model villages must be developed. All basic facilities must be provided ranging from water to hospitals & schools. Industries must be grown for increasing employment & structural development. Industrial & professional training institutes must be started. Women empowerment cells must be initiated. Night schools to provide education to illiterate older people & provide basic knowledge of agriculture & daily needs must be started.

Since most of the funds expected to go into health, education, roads, IT etc it is highly suggested that the govt also arrange/to have rate contracts with service providers/contractors across states who can be contracted in OPTIONAL basis. This way the costs can be controlled and also if any persons want to contract elsewhere he will have to give sufficient explanation for the deviation in costs.

Since this is the start and public facilities to be improved, all monies to be spent in en-hencing basic requirements and its related issues. Like Health, education, road and Internet connectivity, with some local income generating and award schemes for the people so that their participation interests is aroused. Where areas already developed top priority to be given to Education and health.

1. every village should have Fire Exchange and one to two mini fire vans. 24x7 security can be provided by housing fire exchange in the proposed POC. The Fire Exchange’s role will have to expand keeping in view the reporting of arson rage, therefore, these exchanges have to work closely with the Police and take up Researches and Analysis of Arson cases. The rent from the exchange pays for the P.Os’ expenditure. The home ministry should work on this aspect.
