The Prime Minister shared a visionary approach to transform the development journey of our villages in the form of the Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana. The initiative calls upon MPs to select a village in their constituency and make it a Model Village by 2016. Furthermore, the number of model villages should increase as time progresses so that in a decade a large number of villages become Model Villages across India.

The rationale behind a landmark idea such as this is clear- India lives in the villages and India will only progress when our villages progress. Development of villages can happen best when everybody walks shoulder to shoulder and contributes towards the comprehensive development of the village. And who better than the local Members of Parliament to drive this change!

This specially created forum on MyGov invites out of the box ideas on how the Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana can become the driving force in bringing a qualitative difference in our villages. Lets make the development of our villages a grand mass movement and together create a golden future for rural India.

lok sabha and rajya sabha secretariat may ensure that every MP maintain a separate website for this SAGY scheme. in five years, if all MPs take it seriously, there will be 4000 such aadarsh grams.

PM is right when he says that ideas that look small can bring big changes. In cities only if the existing roads are repaired, encroachments are removed and the footpaths are made available to pedestrians, half of the traffic jams will disappear. This will reduce the requirement of flyovers. In fact half of our problems emanate from chaos created by mismanagement. We are not putting the existing facilities to full use.We are inefficient and we are dishonest. We need to change ourselves.

Dear sir, As we know that various initiatives will be taken by MPs and authorities to develop the model village. Very creative ideas will emerge. Development of a village will also encourage normal people to implement these initiatives in their villages. So a website or portal shall be there where all initiatives taken by each MP will be displayed.

Sir, As you opined, MPs are the most appropriate people to initiate & drive this movement in villages in their constituency. MPs should also persuade NGOs, Corporates, Celebrities etc to help this mission and harness all the resources to focused villages in a planned manner. Towards this goal- An Expert Consultative Committee can be formed at the center with experts to plan and design the STEPS to make model village. Otherwise the efforts could be ineffective.Successful MPs should be rewarded.

A sansad adrash gram should also display the economic health of village like all the income of village people - all the inputs like spendings of village people, govt spendings etc should always a positive number

Central Government has so many houses lying vacant in Delhi and Delhi Government has less number of houses. Delhi Govt. employees are deprived of houses. as most of the houses available near work place belong to Central Government and Delhi Government employee are not entitled to get houses of Central Government. IT IS QUITE STRANGE. It should be common pool. Central and Delhi Government employees can choose out of the common pool of houses as per their requirement closer to their work place.

my take on this is that a village should be a village.. there should be all the enmities and facilities but it should be rest with the spirit of village.. villagers should be tought how to live a better life with the nature and even they became example for cities too
