The country is well endowed with many metallic and non-metallic mineral resources.  India is a leading player in respect of many non fuel minerals including, iron ore, bauxite, dolomite, lime stone and mica.  Mining sector (non-fuel) currently accounts for approx 0.5% of GDP.  For accelerated economic growth on sustainable basis, this sector has to grow at a much faster pace to secure   a higher percentage in the GDP.

Scientific, sustainable and transparent mining practices require well trained manpower.  Skill development not only enhances productivity and safety at work place, but more importantly, it prepares the manpower to adapt to the new state of art technologies. Currently this sector employs around 0.2 Million workforce which is estimated to grow to 0.3 Million in next 10 years.

Both is required, classroom study as well as practical training... for example in Germany all technical education is provided by industry & institution partnership and nevertheless to say German worker are best in the world and are highly paid apart from that they are most innovative people and do so many new things every day so we must adopt this culture or education pattern in india for a wonderful output.

Most of the people does not use 'dipper light' at night while driving the car. Instead they use 'upper light', it increases accidents at night. So suggest to our Indian people from your speech.

Absolutely it should be a degree or diploma course more oriented on Practical knowledge as well as theoretical knowledge. The course should be designed as 50%(or less) to theory and remaining to practical. For example if the course is for 4 Semesters then 2 semesters at least 1 semester should be compulsory theory and the remaining will be full and full on practicals and hands on experience. Each candidate should be tested with the final assignment which include only practical.
